Rules and Regulations of

Maui Saito Ninjitsu and The Busha Code

The Head Soke Council has twenty one rules which evolved from my father and the Saito family of Japan.

1.          Smoking and drinking alcohol on the premises are strictly forbidden. The only exception is when a party or celebration is held.  Gambling is not permitted.  The use of LSD, drugs or narcotics of any kind are strictly forbidden.

2.          The Chief Instructor may, at his discretion, expel any student if he or she does not have the Integrity, Character or Individualism to warrant knowing this dedicated and life long Art. Hence all new students are on trial for a short period.

3.          Students who are absent for six months or more may loose their belt ranking unless specifically excused.  Returning Students may be subject to current fees and class lessons may resume at Level One Training and/or retesting may occur for previous belt ranking.

4.          Regardless of age, a dedicated student who practices often, with good form and proper technique, should take a minimum of 2 years and 9 months to receive Shodan, (1st degree) Black Belt.

5.    AFFILIATES: are someone studying and/or applying Maui Saito Ninjitsu to their Art.

CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS: are those who have accumulated 150 hours or more of personal instruction with Master Maui Saito and received Nidan, (2nd degree) Certified Instructor Black Belt.

MASTER INSTRUCTORS: are those who have achieved Godan, (5th degree) Black Belt.

CERTIFIED SCHOOLS: are schools that are teaching 100% Maui Saito Ninjitsu, and their Chief Instructor is at the level of Godan, (5th degree) Black Belt.

6.    Members of other schools who hold “ranking” must abandon their whole rank altogether.  They are required to cease participation in all Martial Arts for a full year before admittance to this Maui Saito Ninjitsu Dojo.  Adherence to this policy will attest to the sincerity and worthiness of a prospective student in the Saito Family Art.

THIS RULE IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT, IT HAS BEEN CHANGED AND UPGRADED TO:

The Bloodline of Saito Ninjitsu and The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu is the Future of All Arts and is to be shared with the world. The main purpose of the Art is the same as it was from the beginning, to seek a peaceful resolution as quickly as possible and used only as a self-defense Art.

7.          It is of prime importance to the Saito Family that whatever is learned from this School should remain with the student alone, and that this knowledge should not be shared with nonmembers at anytime.  This rule is essential since Saito Ninjitsu in the wrong hands could lead to disastrous results.  The repercussions from such incidents could only deface our School and Organization in the eyes of the public.   If you wish to share this Art with your family and friends, you may do so by introducing them to Level 1 Training.   After you have achieved mature ranking, you may go out into this world and start your own Dojo if your Dojo will abide by the same rules set forth by The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu.

8.          All students are expected to bow their heads in full respect before entering the Dojo, then to the Head Instructor before and after training, and again when leaving the Dojo.

9.          All members of the School and Dojo are required to wear a training uniform as designated.  Cleanliness and neatness are of prime importance.  This requirement covers both the individual and the Dojo.

10.     The training area of the Dojo is that part of the hall which is covered with mats.  For reasons of safety, students must not enter the area adjacent to the mirrors.  Walk on the mat area with bare feet.  No shoes are allowed on the mat area.

11.     Consult the Chief Instructor concerning problems you may encounter which are personal or otherwise.  It is of great importance, to this School and to the Saito Family to maintain an intimacy comparable to that of an undivided and loving family.

12.     The Chief Instructor is to be notified immediately concerning any fights or altercations.  All details of such incidents must be exposed.  If the conduct of the student is found to be inexcusably at fault, the student will be expelled from this School.

If the expelled student persists in misusing Maui Saito Ninjitsu heedlessly, the Chief Instructor will make it a point to hunt for this person until this nonsense is stopped.

13.     The Great Grand Master Mark Kahalepaiwi Saito has promoted his son Master Maui Saito to 5th Degree Ninjitsu Master, the highest rank he has ever given.

Due to the watered down versions of the Saito Family Art of Ninjitsu taught, all belt rankings in the past will not be recognized.  Now and in the future the only true belt rankings of Saito Ninjitsu will be granted and given by Master Maui Saito and The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu.

14.     The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu will be made up of advanced students of Maui Saito Ninjitsu who have earned belt ranking of 10th degree Black Belt or Higher.

15.     The Association of Maui Saito Ninjitsu Master Certified Instructors (5th degree) Black Belt or higher shall be governed under The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu.

16.     The Association of Maui Saito Ninjitsu Certified Schools, run and taught by a Godan (5th Degree) Black Belt or higher, shall be governed under The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu.

17.     Any and all Honorable students who have chosen the path of Maui Saito Ninjitsu and are true to the authenticity of the Saito Family Art will be considered to be candidates of The Association of Maui Saito Ninjitsu.

18.     All test fees world wide shall be received by The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu prior to belt recognition for any belt ranking to be legitimate.

19.     All Maui Saito Ninjitsu Certified Instructors and Certified Schools shall be listed on our website at www.got-spirit.org

20.     To encourage other Arts to develop spirit, there will be AIFFILATES; others applying Maui Saito Ninjitsu principles to their Art, to make it a better Art.  Their belt and school ranking will not be recognized by The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu as a certified Dojo.

21.     Respect the wishes of the Great Grand Master Mark Kahalepaiwi Saito.  Sharing this knowledge in any form with those listed as renegades is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.  For an image of the letter, concerning Renegades and Disbarment, visit our website.  www.got-spirit.org
