The Bridge
To all those who have studied with my father the late Great Grand Master Mark Kahalepaiwi Saito and where ranked by him, I bless you in keeping the rank that you have received by him. Cherish your certificate and cherish the time you have trained with him. I do not wish to undo or take away any rank he has given unless he has done so himself. Please read The Busha Code, it is the Saito family rules and regulations for our Saito Family Art. All twenty one rules are important. Pay attention to rule #13.
The Great Grand Master Mark Kahalepaiwi Saito has promoted his son Master Maui Saito to 5th Degree Ninjitsu Master, the highest rank he has ever given.
Due to the watered down versions of the Saito Family Art of Ninjitsu taught, all belt rankings in the past will not be recognized. Now and in the future the only true belt rankings of Saito Ninjitsu will be granted and given by Master Maui Saito and The Head Soke Council of Maui Saito Ninjitsu.
My father has left me the task of organizing and correcting our Saito Family Art. For those of you that wish to take this Art into the future, there is hope. Rule thirteen applies to all those that have not been ranked by my father or myself. Again I am here to help you progress not regress.
If you have studied our Saito Ninjitsu Family Art and have felt its true magic and power, called the gift, then it will resonate with the same vibration that is within your spirit. This is the Saito Ninjitsu that my father has shared with the world. Many pieces to the magic of the Art are missing and no longer exist as my father has mentioned to me in numerous conversations. He repeated, "There are pieces missing, very important pieces. Some of it looks similar but it is not the same Saito Ninjitsu that I taught. And some of it, I don't even recognize."
When my father stopped teaching at the end of 1986, he carefully watched the first generation students teach the second generation. He was very disappointed in the quality of Ninjitsu taught by them. This, and other inexcusable behavior from other students, led him to writing and sending 'The Renegade Letter' in 1998.
One of the conditions upon approval for me to teach was to let go of the name of his old school, The Shorinjin Ryu Saito Ninjitsu Academy, because he felt the name was tainted by others. He asked me to use a new name and he approved, Shorinjin Ryu Maui Saito Ninjitsu. We both agreed this would be a good name so future students would know the difference of which Ninjitsu they are studying and which contained the true magic. At this point, I wish you could have seen how happy my father was; he called me 8 times that day because he knew that the Art was going to get fixed.
If you are a second, third or fourth generation student of our Saito Family Art and you have had a glimpse of the treasure of the real Ninjitsu Mastery, you are invited to cross a bridge. A bridge that I have opened to all students that wish to be true to the Saito Family Art. Again I will say if you have been ranked by my father, keep your belt ranking. If you wish to take our Saito Ninjitsu Family Art into the future I ask that you follow the way my father approved of me teaching our Saito Family Art. It will contain all that my father has taught. It will be numbered, filmed and documented in DVD form so the original pieces of our Saito Family Art remain intact. It is also designed as a dictionary or training and teaching guide for the future. This will help keep the Art intact and will help keep it from getting diluted again in the future. 10 years, 100 years and 1000 years from today, the Art can remain the same.
The bridge is here for any and all students and teachers who wish to take this Art into the future properly. This Art requires people of high integrity, and of good character. If you wish to cross it, please feel free to contact us and let us know of your good intentions and character. You will be welcomed. Do not worry about the quality or authenticity of what you have learned, of Saito Ninjitsu. Corrections can be made. With a little enthusiasm and a little resilience you will be on the right track in no time.
If you have a school or you are the head instructor, I urge you to keep your students but train them correctly by correcting yourself and contact us immediately. We are here to help you regain your status as quickly and as rapidly as the magic of the Art will allow.
It is of great importance to this school and to the Saito Family to maintain an intimacy comparable to that of an undivided and loving family. Those who wish to cross and come over and join us in taking our Saito Family Art into the future, you are welcome the bridge is here.
The Bridge is a two way bridge. To all those who wish to take the Art into the future you are welcome to cross over to the Shorinjin Ryu Maui Saito Ninjitsu side. Here I will teach everything my father has taught me including the higher spiritual part of the Art, the real Ninjitsu Mastery. For those of you that reach the level of Mastery (10th degree Black belt or higher), I will share and teach from the 21 Masters Scrolls that my father taught and left with me in safe keeping. You will be responsible for protecting and preserving the Art into the future. You will also have an opportunity to be a part of the Maui Saito Ninjitsu Head Soke Council.
WARNING!!!
To all those who wish to take the Art back across the bridge, which means, for those of you who wish to come learn this Art in its authenticity and return to share what you learned with the renegades who are listed as such, your bridge will burn. You will be listed as a Renegade as well.
Also, if you decide to change the Art by reinterpreting and re-teaching this authentic Saito Family Art, adding and subtracting things by turning it into your own creation, you are not honoring our 2000 year old Family Art. You are tainting our family name. By misrepresenting our family name to promote your creation, you will be joining the list of Renegades as well.
The Shorinjin Ryu Saito Ninjitsu, Maui Saito Ninjitsu and Bloodline Ninjitsu are registered trademark names of my father and myself. Do not use them. You do not have our permission.
